Day 11 – Recovery

Today I want to talk about recovery. To live a high-performance life, we need to think about recovery for not just our muscles and connective tissues but our minds too. To perform at our peak, we must not burn out. Sometimes we need to dial down our training intensity or not work such late nights at work…… but in my experience, for most of us, overtraining and overworking isn’t the issue… as if you want to do great things, you have to work hard!… It’s under-recovery, not overtraining which screws us.

 

How to recover?

Eating enough (and the right stuff), Massage (by a person or using a percussion massage gun), baths with magnesium/Epsom salts and more deep sleep are all solid ways to recover. I’m also a massive fan of restorative yoga. Below is Sarah (who has been our in-house yogi ever since 2012) with a useful relaxation video taken from the resources section of my MX Honeworkout Club.
