So I’ve been away for few months… Have I been So I’ve been away for few months…

Have I been working on new Disney + Action series featuring Tom Holland in Bulgaria… or have I been caring for a loved one in hospital?  Or was I being mentored by @cobratate learning how to impress 15 year old incels.,. or maybe I moved house, had a break up, or a break down? 

maybe I trained for and competed in the marathon de Sabre.. maybe I broke my leg and have been doing boring rehab and got really fat and have become too self-conscious to post videos… 

Or maybe I wrote a book, or did i have a crazy job in UAE that I’m not allowed to talk about? 

or maybe I listened too much joe Rogan -and turned to taekwondo, elk hunting and shrooms.. or maybe I took Peterson too literally and am still cleaning my room while thinking about lobsters and pronouns… 

or maybe I was just bored with posting stuff or was I was conducting an insta-social experiment on how many insta friends & stangers check in with you when you stop following and posting stuff… maybe I lost my phone, or lost my password or maybe I entered a vortex and was trapped like an aging caged monkey in an alternate universe? . I guess we’ll never know.. luckily the truth isn’t always that important nowadays. 😜

Either way… for whatever the actual reason, after a few months of not posting. .. i feel vaguely compelled to at least try to say something useful to you amongst the self promotion, narcissism, aspiration and other things ending in n that is so rife on this platform 😳

So… Zen Buddhists have this wonderful saying which I think is rather profound and useful to any of you doing a bit of soul searching .. or personal development…

“before enlightenment - chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment - chop wood, carry water” 

As with all zen sayings .. You can assign  different meanings from this… some say it’s about the importance of simplicity. I see it more to do with humility. Either way.. maybe it’s worth contemplating for a few mins before you scroll away. ❤️

I have 2 podcast shows - which were both created v I have 2 podcast shows - which were both created very selfishly as an excuse to talk to people I wanted to talk to!  and I guess 10% of it was also my attempt to create useful long-form content to you and anyone else who follows my work.

So on the latest episode of the @methodology_x podcast I have a 2 hour conversation with the incredible @johannarenoth about the relationship we have with social media.. In this episode we discuss the algorithm, dating, politics, fitness, mental health, technology, culture and much more. 

Johanna has had a fascinating career, has too many degrees for her own good!, is a true social media expert and is currently writing her a PhD thesis on Instagram.. so she was literally the perfect guest for this far-reaching and conversation.

You can watch/ listen via YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, or just ask your smart speaker. 

As you’re on Instagram right now I think you’ll find this episode interesting. It’s full of useful/practical tips that you can take on board immediately that’ll improve the relationship you have with Instagram and other social channels .

The way I see it.. If you want to improve your mental well-being and live with your eyes open.. .. then along with exploring the relationship you have with friends, family, yourself, with food, exercise and your body … you should also explore the relationship you have with technology, your phone and social media.

Never ran with a weighted best before.. kinda messes with my running style - particularly when going fast or downhill (or it could be me just being a bit rubbish). 

Either way it’s always important to try new things, explore new variations of classic exercises and play in nature

3. Did a few interviews recently. Oxygen (usa), Womens Health (Uk), GQ and some random Middle Eastern mag. I’ve stopped putting all the media stuff I do on instagram but my press office section of our website gets updated every month and has all the articles, features & advice Im lucky enough to be involved in. If you want some proper exercise & wellbeing advice you’ll have way more luck looking there than on here 😳

4. So during this month, so far two more new Coaches have qualified in my @methodology_x group instruction - which is cool! 💪🏻. While I’m talking about qualifications: I was going to launch a strength & conditioning qualification this summer but I’ve had to delay it because it’s only half filmed/written. I’m kinda juggling too many things and writing /developing courses & qualifications always takes way longer than I think it would! And I can’t really delegate this aspect of it .. so I’m just not gonna talk about that course again until it actually launches!🤫

4. The Latest episode of the mx podcast was with the lovely @sofitee -we talked about her new book and exercise & philosophy. So please check that out! -  my next episode is out on Saturday / the theme is the relationship we have with social media. my guest is the wonderful @johannarenoth who’s currently doing her PhD on Instagram. It’s such a fascinating chat ! 🤳🏻

5. And in other news - the world is going mad, Putins Napoleon complex has taken us back to a Cold War, Covid has gone apeshit in China which is scary news for the world, my neighbour has a new beard, my pet gecko (@gavthegecko is having problems shedding) and I have a sore thumb. 👎
